 Throstles feeding - a savage committee down 
 on the ground in anger. To stand 
 stiffly upright in that storm of nerves, a politician’s 
 head cocked to one side in dishonesty. 
 Alert for signs of prey they hover 

 near the surfaces of our lives to tear them - 
 running or hopping, breathless beasts scramble 
 at intervals into our lives. No pity - 
 for a few feet of earth tied by our ears 
 to the next listening point - forever.
